If you've ever spent an evening sitting by your radio enjoying Nashville's famous "Grand Ole Opry", you know there are some artists who create a special electricity when they step in front of the microphone. If you happen to be at the Opry in person, you know that for these artists, the applause is a little stronger, and the flash bulbs seem to flash a little brighter. Hank Snow was one of those artists.

Born in Canada's province of Nova Scotia, Hank Snow was the victim of an abusive childhood. He left home at an early age, but luckily with guitar in hand. The road to Nashville's spotlight was long and rough, but it was one that would lead him to become a Country Music Legend... eventually to be known all over the world as "The Singing Ranger".

Through the 1980's and 1990's, Hank Snow remained a sincere friend to all of us at Rocklands Entertainment. Although his visits were short and to the point, his telephone calls were always welcome, and his words sincere. In a letter dated September 1987, Hank wrote: "Now that we are back home I wanted to drop you a line and tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed working with you." To anyone who knew Hank very well, those few words spoke volumes.

In December 1999, fans and friends alike mourned the passing of Hank Snow, but like many other legends, his music will live on forever.
