PROUDLY REPRESENTING THE FINEST IN LIVE MUSIC SINCE 1980

Rita MacNeil

Known around the world as “Canada’s Songstress”, Rita MacNeil built her music career based on a beautiful voice, a talent to create songs about the places and the people she loved, and a determination to overcome the varied obstacles she faced along the way. Her name first became known to most Canadians from one side of the country to another when her self composed recording of “Working Man” took Canadian radio by storm. It wasn’t long until almost everyone was talking about this wonderful singer from Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Her unique compositions and recordings continued to follow as she wrote and sang about her beloved Cape Breton and its people with songs such as “Flying On Your Own”, “I’ll Accept The Rose Tonight”, “Reason To Believe”, “I’m Not What I Seem”, and “Home I’ll Be”.
Rita MacNeil left us far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of song that will live on forever. Her loyal fans and friends continue to remember this beautiful lady who touched the hearts of so many.
